This means that individuals who use alternative heating methods, such as electric, oil, or other forms of natural gas, can still participate in this program.

communities not presently linked to the North American electrical grid or piped natural gas network 

None eligible properties for this program include:

 

  • Homes not primarily heated by Enbridge Gas, where the owner is not the primary resident (rental units).
  • Multi-unit residential buildings (MURB) exceeding 3 storeys or having a size greater than 600 m2.
  • Homes constructed within the last 6 months.
  • Mixed-use buildings with less than 50 percent of the space designated for residential living.
  • Homes that have previously participated in the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) or Canada Greener Homes Grant (CGHG) initiatives and reached the maximum incentive limit ($10,000 for Enbridge space-heated customers, $5,000 for non-Enbridge customers).
  • Homes where upgrade work was initiated before the pre-retrofit energy assessment was conducted."
